Please note our club night meetings move back to 8pm for the summer, a decision will be made at the AGM to see if we are going back to evenings all the year around or as we have this year afternoons in the winter or all year around or as this year afternoons in the winter evenings summer.
The speaker for our May meeting is Gordon May, this time he has ridden a1941 ex WD Matchless which has been civilised and painted black it was also modified to take in the rigors of the roads it would travel. His journey took him across land from Manchester to Vietnam. The name of his latest book (Overland to Vietnam) this will be available may club night or direct from Gordon or other book sellers. Should be another good and interesting talk this will be the 3rd time he has given us a talk
The April Club meeting was a talk by Mike Watkins and Wilma Hayes The Empress of Ireland (what really happened) the talk was delivered by Wilma who had relatives on the ship. Although this had a larger loss of life than the Titanic ,little had been heard of it due to the 1st World War which started due to the assination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. The talk was very interesting with a film and was told extremley well. mike has previously given us a talk on the titanic and we will be seeing them again next year
Do not forget our fish & chip night in June the fish & chips need to be ordered before the night the cost will be £10.00includes a pudding and a free draw ticket
